Interview Today!

February 21st, 2013 at 05:57 pm

I'm pretty excited that I have an interview today.

Yesterday I received an email from an HR lady that works for a company that I used to work for prior to where I am now.

One of the VP's that I support recently moved over to that company a few months ago and now she is seeking me out to see if I would have any interest in supporting her and her group along with another VP and his group. I am very flattered that she thinks highly of me and my work to go this extra mile to try to bring me aboard.

Since I have worked at this company before I am familiar with their processes and culture. Last night I was playing out the pro's and con's but I will have more after the interview today.

Enjoy the interview, it's all part of life's learning experiences. It's great to feel wanted but also important to ask 'what's in it for me?' Shorter commute, free assigned parking, opportunities for over time or bonus pay? Are they offering a 'sweetener' like an extra week's holiday, or an extra day attached to legislated holidays like President's Day, MLK etc? A raise or bonus is great but income tax lowers value if it puts you into a higher bracket. What non monetary benefits do they offer?

I hope it all works out however you want it to.
