Taking Advantage of Free Food!

July 9th, 2013 at 05:42 pm

Yesterday at the office I had a meeting catered and not everyone ate. The meeting was pretty intense I'm guessing! I ordered salads. I had one for lunch and brought some home for DD1 and I to have for dinner. DD2 is with her dad.

Today, we had our weekly catered lunch. Salmon, rice pilaf, mixed veggies, bread roll and there were two cake choices. Italian creme and German Chocolate! I had a small plate, not really hungry.

When you order catered lunch what happens to the leftovers? Do the caterers take it away, is it trashed, can you take it home in a couple of zip boxes? We used to do catered breakfast meetings and I'd be pleading with staff to take items or come back for lunch. It felt so wasteful to trash delicious foods. We discovered the guys preferred donuts, the stickier the better; ended leftovers dilema.

We have about 40 ppl here in our office. It's a satellite office. We baggy things up and send an email and ppl are always anxious to take things home.

I love free food from work. At my workplace they usually take all the leftovers and place them in the fridge in the kitchen, so it makes for snacks or lunches the next day.
