You might think I'm lucky that I don't have to pay any out of pocket but my problem is I'm gaining alot of weight. The company I work for provides free snacks/lunch food/sodas for all 35 Houston Employees.
Let me give you some examples of what is here..Hostess cupcakes, twinkies, chips, trail mix, nutrigrain bars, etc.
I normally will eat out on Monday (we have a food court near by. Tuesday we have a hot lunch delivered. Then we eat left overs the rest of the week or a sandwich and soup. Something like that. Another problem I am having is because I am the Secretary here my lunch usually gets interrupted. I would like some peace and quiet. My breaks lasts 30 minutes.
My new plan is going to be to eat out on Monday and have lunch in the breakroom with my favorite co worker. Tues-Thurs make a healthy plate then high tail it and go eat in a conference room by myself and read a book.
If anyone has some advice, I'd love to hear it!

Perhaps you should pack a little cardboard sign that says Out to Lunch or something a little humorous so people get the message!

Second, I see the gain weight issue and the lunch interrupted issue as similar enough so that maybe one strategic thing can help with both. I'd make the case that a little me-time at lunch can help. If I could, I'd walk somewhere to picnic because you can then disappear, eat lunch and get fresh air and a walk. If you can't go far, I'd eat in the breakroom and then walk around the block or walk around the offices.
I think your ideas are excellent, but if you are gaining weight, I'd walk instead of read. Much as I love reading!
