I use one of these for the same reason. I got it for free as a promotional giveaway at a professional conference I went to. It works great, but sometimes I still misplace my keys when I forget to clip them onto my purse.
Hmmm... Something to think about, though I use my keys a lot without using my bag. (Laundry, garbage, mail etc.) It would be a lot of clipping and unclipping, but at least they would be visible at a glance.
I have a horse blanket pin on my key ring so I can pin or loop them to almost anything. I still misplace them often in the house, or forget whether they are in/on my back pack, purse, jeans pocket, coat pocket, jacket, etc.
I've been using a carabiner to clip my keys to my purse for years because I often don't have pockets in my clothes. It was a great way to have my hands free when the kids were little and I had to hang on to both of them.

Brilliant! And the clip cost what, $1.99 at the hardware store?
